Anyone have a resolution for next year? As the year draws to the end, do people scramble to make sure they kept there resolutions? Can you loose 10 lbs in three days!!??? What other resolutions out there?
I don't make resolutions but more thoughts of things I'd like to do. Like, I'd like to sell the condo. I'd like to buy a home. I'd like to win the lottery. Things on that nature. If I do, I do, if I don't, oh well, there's always next year right?
Tee-hee.
Tonight we are staying in. The weather's bad and I'm expecting W to be late. We'll order some Chinese have a little beer and wine and try are best to stay up until 12.
It's also a Leap Second year. I just don't know what to do with that extra second.
Have a wonderful healthy and happy new year everyone!

Merry Christmas
W back again. I would just like to wish everyone a Very Merry. To all those I saw today, as I traversed what seemed like the entire state of Mass in my car, thank you for making the few moments I spent out of my car enjoyable. To those I was unable to to see, I hope your day was spent entirely with those you love.
Funniest gift I got today were the "Blue Crab" coffee mugs from my wife. Long (and kind of dirty) story but let's just say I was in hysterics when I opened them.
What was your funniest gift????

Issues
Yesterday was a doozy.
When I left for work I had the hardest time shutting my door. 15 minutes of examining and trying to close the door about a bajillion times gave me nothing but anger. I finally fiddled with the seal on the door and it closed. Unfortunately, I was on the outside of the car. Luckily, it closed when I got back in the car. I'm thinking, I was probably just ice.
Another thing on my mind at the time was that I thought I threw away my bonus check. In fact, I'm pretty sure I did.
This morning it was the same exact thing, my door wouldn't close. I cleaned out all the ice on the door to no avail. I was desperate. I didn't know what to do. I decided the worst thing I could do was drive to the dealer, you know the one, the one that's a half an hour away.
So, I held on as tightly as I could and set off for the long (and very achy) way to the dealer. Come to find out, using my right hand was easier, especially if the curve in the road went to the right. It was a very scary and unpleasant ride. Did a lot of praying (thanks St Christopher!) and got to the dealer safely.
I waited patiently for them to examine my car. Only to expect that I need a new door and it was going to cost me thrice the amount of my bonus that I threw away.
The guy comes out and tells me that there was ice on the bottom of the door. Of course! The only place I forgot to look. He tried to joke so I wouldn't be embarrassed but Buddy, c'mon, this isn't gonna cost me a thing so I could care less that a waiting room full of people know I'm an idiot.
The even day got better once I got into work. I found out that I could get another bonus check.
Word to the wise, don't drive on 495 when your door won't close.

It's my favorite day of the year!!!
It's the Winter solstice! The shortest day of sunlight. That means from here on end, the days will be lighter. OK, I know, it's going to take about 3 weeks before we even notice but it's at least the beginning. A little glimmer of hope if you will.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm very bored today. I finished all that I could yesterday in preparation for the holidays. I even offer to wrap some of W's gifts. I have no more crafty things to do. I'm trapped in the house because of the storm.
We could go snowshoeing but we learned in past experience that it's no fun when there are no trails. Especially when your with W and he didn't want to go out in the first place. Positive reinforcement doesn't change the mind of a grumpy cold husband. No, he was not having fun, and no, he wasn't making good memories. I guess it's inside we stay.
I can run. I will be making cookies. There's always my sudoku. Hmmm. What to do, what to do . . .

Ice ice baby
Here are some pics from the ice storm last week. My plans were canceled from last Friday night but I did go into Leominster on Saturday. E's Mom didn't have any power for three days. Luckily sister C did so Mom stayed there. Sister W didn't have any either but stayed at brother S's house over night until her husband J got a generator. How long were you out of power?

Finally finished!
This one was quite a doozy but I finished the quilt for my niece L. I used the wrong kind of batting so it was more difficult to use. In the end I'm very pleased. I'm also please on my little doll monster that I made with the left over material. Let's just hope my brother S doesn't read this often and it won't ruin the surprise.

Another weekend alone
I'm abandoning W again.
Tonight I'm off to Mom's because my cat has her yearly doctor's appointment (she lives with my Mom, W's allergic). After that I'm going out with my best friend S for our Christmas dinner. We do that in lieu of getting gifts for each other. That should be fun.
I'll be staying over in Leominster because tomorrow my Mom and I are Christmas tree shopping. Not at the store, we're getting her tree. Of course, it's going to be a high of 12 out. Here's the scenario: We jump out of her car, point at a tree and say "I want that one". The tree guy throws it in the trunk, we pay, we leave. No need to be picking in frigid weather.
I'm not sure what W will be up to tonight and tomorrow but I'm sure it will entail World of Warcraft and hopefully some of his online classes. He did mention the gym too.
All this could all change of course. We just had an ice storm and Mom has no electricity or heat. Anyone else stuck freezing at home?

Our first snow!

This snow actually happened last Saturday but I've been super busy and I haven't had time to post my pictures. The turkey belongs to a whole family but they were fast walkers and turned the corner by the time I got to snap the shot.
What's making me super busy is that I've been making a quilt for our niece. I started it Sunday night and have been doing a little at a time after work. I almost finished it yesterday but when I went to do the backing, I didn't have enough material. I think the store gypped me. I measured my the top of the quilt to find that it's a bit smaller than it's supposed to be. So it's not like I made the quilt any bigger than it should be. I now have to go back at some point, very soon, to get more material. I'm a bit upset since I really hate to have all my quilting stuff out on the kitchen table.
Oh, and if you are wondering why the quilt is smaller than it's supposed to be, I'm a beginner and, um, I don't sew in straight lines sometimes.

Only in New England
W back again and it's December and it's 60 degrees outside.... 2 whole days after below zero temperatures. Yesterday I left for work bundled up to my eye balls because it was 18 degrees when I left my house, by the time I got to work I was dripping with sweat as it hit 35 degrees. By the time I left work my winter jacket felt like a medieval torture device as it was over 50 degrees out.
Not complaining about warm weather because given the cheapness of my company it's the only time I don't freeze at my desk. (Memo to Facilities: Central heating isn't new technology!!!!) All I'm asking for is a little adjustment period. You know below zero then a day in the 20's followed by a day in the 30's or 40's then 60 degrees. That way I can dress appropriately.
Well anyway enjoy the heat while it lasts.

Traffic question
So I'm driving to work yesterday on 495. We're all going at a smooth 65 mph and all of a sudden, we stop. Thank God I left enough room so I didn't hit the car in front of me. I also thank Him for having the guy behind me leave enough room so he didn't hit me either. My question is WHY? I want to know why we just stopped. You could see ahead an there was no traffic at all, no accident, no cop cars with their hypnotising flashy lights that seem to stop traffic even though we've all seen them before (I could keep going on about that subject but that's for another blog).
Ten seconds later, we go on our merry way. I have a friend who blames hills for halting traffic, and I agree with him, but not this time. There were no hills in the area to effect us.
If anyone can explain, please do so. I'd like to know why traffic is against me. Why??

Good weather
Yesterday was the ickest day so far but today was a complete opposite. I went out to Wells State park today with my friend B. We couldn't ask for better weather. It was about 50 degrees and sunny. The only thing we were afraid of were the hunters. B wanted to bring along her orange umbrella but I convinced her we didn't need it. I second guessed my decision when I heard the gunfire but we were too far from the car at that point.
We made it out alive. Here are some cool pics of our trip. Enjoy!

Bad weather
W back on the old blog again. So we had a mixture of rain and sleet today, which isn't so bad when it's Sunday. All you have to do is curl up in front of the TV with some comfy clothes on ( I recommend sweatpants and a long sleeve t-shirt) and think warm thoughts. Then you just sit back and watch all the shows you have (DVR and NetFlix rock) and the football games, while drinking some hot cocoa.
Hope everyone else either had good weather or was able to stay out of the bad stuff like us.

Ouch
My Mom had planned for me to go to her house today and help rake her yard. We made these plans about 3 weeks ago. Well, this morning, I get up and listen to the weather report. They say today will be 50 degrees and it will rain tonight. No problem, right?
Wrong!
As I'm getting closer to my Mom's house it's POURING out. And not to mention that it's only 33 degrees. I know my Mom won't reschedule so I was so I knew it wasn't going to be an easy day.
Thank God she had one of her friends 15 year old son, A, there to help out. So at 10:30 this morning we were raking in the rain. Rain makes leaves heavy. Very heavy. After a good 4 hours of raking there painfully heavy. Not to mention the blisters I have. OH and I got attacked by a picker bush, it was such a bad attack, my leg started to bleed.
My back is probably the most sore thing on my body but I can imagine how I'm going to feel tomorrow.
A couple of good things that came out of this raking in the rain day:
1. I got some of my Mom's stuffing
2. I probably burned all the calories that I consumed yesterday
3. I got to eat my Mom's pudding pie
I'm off to rest now. Let's hope I can get off the couch later on.

Turkey for me - Turkey for you . . .
Let's eat the turkey in my big brown shoe.
Come to find out I'm not the only person pre-burning my calories for the big day tomorrow. My best friend S called while walking on the treadmill. Oh, she's no dummy.
We're not golfing tomorrow which means another 4 miles on the dreadmill, I mean, treadmill. I think I'll wear my tightest outfit to dinner tomorrow, that way I won't over eat.
Oh wait, we're going to W's family this year and I don't know how understanding they'll be when I show up in my black pleather pants and a tube top. Tee-hee, just kidding . . . they're real leather.
I now have to make brownies for the festivities tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have to clean the pan first. I made brownies for W's work yesterday and the pan didn't fit in the dishwasher. He didn't take them all either so now I've been snacking. Not good! All that pre-burning for nothing!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish Turkey only cost a nickle
Actually, I really could care less how much turkey cost, I don't eat it. Two days before Thanksgiving and counting. I may not like turkey but I do LOVE what goes with it, the mashed potatoes, the stuffing, every vegetable you can imagine with a pound of butter on top. Not to mention the desserts. Oh, the desserts
In training for such an event, I have been forcing myself to run 4 miles on the treadmill daily. Normally I only do 3, not that couldn't do more but it's more of the boredom factor, it gets me every time. Not this week though, I have pudding pie, apple pie, any other kind of pie just swirling around in my head and that's enough to keep my running for another 10 minutes.
Another thing W and I like to do to burn a couple of extra calories is golf before we head down to the feast. Hopefully it will be warm enough, it's supposed to be 45 out, which is OK but that's at it's highest for the day. I seriously doubt at 9am it will be close to that.
Let's just all keep our fingers crossed, I don't think I can handle that extra 10 minutes anymore!

Sunday in Miami
It's 85 degrees in Miami today. It's 23 here. The Patriots are playing there today. Too bad, they'd probably win if they were here.
Anyhoo, that's my Sunday plans. W is making chowder, oooh yummmy! The man makes a great chowder.
I haven't blogged in a while and it's because I just finished doing our wedding album. We didn't have the photographer do our book. My package only included the negatives and proofs. Which is fine because even though it was the biggest PINA I'm glad I got to do it myself. Going through the negatives and arrange the pics and buying the book with the mats, was VERY time consuming. In the end, I'm pretty happy on how it came out.
I have to get the pics developed in their appropriate sizes next. I probably shouldn't of done this right before Christmas since it's rather costly. But what else are you going to do when it's 23 outside?

The weekend for W
Ok, I didn't realize how much I was neglecting W until I was sitting at the computer reading W's last post and as I was reading that post, I looked over to see that W had penciled his name in our weekly calendar. That made me start thinking perhaps I should stay home this weekend.
One thing W had found to pass the time when I wasn't home was playing a free trial of World of Warcraft. I'm not too pleased about that. I heard this game is highly addicting and I don't want to lose my husband. At least it's only a free trail. I keep telling myself that but what did W do last night right before bed? Yup, he went on to play for "only a couple of minutes". He was only on for a couple of minutes but that's probably because I was standing over his shoulder.

Fall Sunday.
Not much going on, this is the 2nd weekend in a row that E has left me home alone. Yesterday she went shopping all day with the 2 moms, and today she's out with W2 (that's the sister). I'm kind of surprised the house is still standing and there have been no hopsital visits. Must be a sign of my maturity.
Well I'm off to watch football games I don't really care about and eat lots of stuff that isn't good for me. Life is good!!!!!

Issues with radio stations
I am not a bah-humbug kind of girl but what's up with radio stations already playing Christmas music? I do like a good Holly Jolly Christmas but before Thanksgiving?
Maybe we should have more Thanksgiving songs. There's plenty to sing about. Food, the weather, the relatives, food, the spirit of giving thanks. Food. See, plenty to sing about. You can rewrite a couple of Christmas songs into Thanksgiving songs. Give it try, I'd like to hear some.
I'm sure it's just a ploy from the retailers expecting a poor outcome for this years holiday season. They think "I know, let's play Christmas music now, even though it's only early November."
Play the Christmas music and they will come!

Ode to my husband
This weekend I went to NY to visit my Grandparents and help clean their house. Twice a year us Grandkids and kids go over and give the house a real good scrub. We get in the nooks and grannies, I mean, crannies that they can't reach. The place sparkles by the end of the weekend.
W had to work so he stayed home.
Well, after a 3 hour car ride, I'm tired and think how I don't even want to clean my own house. Well, my wonderful husband did just that. Besides cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, he vacuumed AND, are you ready, AND mopped. I'm floored. . .pun intended.
He's the best!

#70843480
That's our MLS number for our condo. Since we aren't having any more open houses in the next few months we thought this would be a good way to get the word out. Plus, there has been an uptick in condos for sale in our development. They all have numbers. We didn't want to be the odd condo out.
Let's all hope this works.
On another note, I was checking out the competition and someone is using my pool image. I don't know if this is petty or not but I contacted the realtor and asked him to take it down. He should've ask.

New Day
With "Super Tuesday" over I was thinking Wednesday really gets no love. You have Superbowl Sunday (sorry The Big Game Sunday don't want the NFL fining me) , Monday gets all the holidays (presidents day, Labor day, Memorial day etc.) Tuesday is Super in November, Thursday gets Thanksgiving every year, Fridays Party night and Saturday is a weekend and gets college football for 4 months. What's poor Wednesday get????
Well here you go Wednesday, as of next year I'm declaring the first Wednesday of August Amazing Wednesday. (this also takes care of August which get no holidays). So this August 5th help me celebrate Amazing Wednesday by doing something you love to do or by trying something you've never done before.

Get out and vote!
I just wanted to encourage you all to get out and vote today. W and I already did. My town is very organized when it comes to voting. You're in and out of there even at one of the most busiest times. We even got decent parking this year.
Things I heard while voting:
"Dammit, you treat me like a kid sometimes. I've been voting for over 50, I think I know how to do this."
"Mom, why did you vote for McCain??!! You said you were going to vote for Obama, you can't vote for McCain, Obama has to win. You need to explain to me in one sentance why you voted for McCain."
I actually wanted to hear what her response was but I was done voting and there was a line beginning to form for open booths.
Welp, get out there and make your voice heard.

Feeling a bit down?
This weekend we turn our clocks back for Daylight Savings Time. Most of us get SAD around this time of year. Well, I have a few cures which will brighten up your day - yodelling and penguins. Not necessarily at the same time.
First, listen to yodelling. It may sound silly, but I'm telling you, a couple of minutes into a song and you'll be trying to sing along. Oh, you know you can't yodel but you'll try. Then you'll break out in laughter because you can hear how stupid you sound. Guaranteed tears of joy.
Second, watch a movie on penguins. Doesn't matter which one, they are just so funny to watch. Oh, I know there's always a sad part of any wildlife documentary, but the scene after the leopard seal eats a baby penguin, BAM! Cute penguins waddling around like life is a piece of pie. Again, puts a smile on my face.
I hope you find my suggestions helpful.

Happy Hallloween!
Horroray for Halloween.
First off, I would like to wish my sister C and her husband T a happy anniversary!
First off, I would like to wish my sister C and her husband T a happy anniversary!
Today is one of my favorite holidays. I was lucky enough to attend college at SSC and get to see real Halloween action in the city of Salem, the city of Witches. It was such a blast going through all the haunted houses and seeing the old grave sites. Peoples costumes were so cool. I do miss it. Well, I totally wouldn't drive through it so I guess I don't miss it that much.
Anyway, how things have changed. We don't dress up nor do we get any kids for candy.
Anyone dressing up?

They're taking over
This is W, back again, and I'm now convinced people are getting dumber, computers are getting smarter, and soon people will be moronic slaves walking around doing what our PDA's and home computers tell us.
Proof of which, a woman called and told me she had a Safe Deposit Box at one of the bank's branches, but didn't know which one it was at because her GPS was broken. She didn't need directions, mind you, she didn't even know what town the branch was in.
So basically her car knows where she keeps her valuables but she doesn't. How far away from the take over do you think we are?????

What to do when there's nothing to do
Write a blog of course!
I'm at work right now but our server is down so I can't get to any of my files. Let's all say a community prayer that they let us go home. It's 66° outside and it's prime running weather.
I just came back from Stop n' Shop. A co-worker mentioned that they were giving free flu shots. Heck, if they're free, I'll get one. Well, there weren't. $30. I don't need one that badly. The happy part of this story is that I had to go there anyways to pick up some things that we forgot to get yesterday.
I now have to go and look busy. I could walk around the office with papers in my hand looking stressed. That'll kill 5 minutes. I think my water bottle needs to be refilled, another 5. Oooohw, now that I had that water, I'll have to use the bathroom. I won't say how long that took.
Hmmm, what to do, what to do. . .
Any suggestions?

Job update part II and other items on the list
Ok, I still haven't talked to Company X. We've been playing phone tag but I'm going to guess there's still no position open. My contact left a voice mail yesterday and said that he was just checking in to see how I was doing and that I was a talented designer (I'm blushing) and he wanted to keep in touch. I guess this is the thing they call "networking" and well, if I can't get a job at Company X, I sure would appreciate the help from them to get a job at Company Z.
In other news, we're having a realtor come over to "look at the place" on Saturday. I already told her that we don't want to use a realtor at the time but she's welcome to come over. She sounded kinda flaky so I'm not sure if this will lead to better things — e.i. selling the condo.
Lastly, I don't like that the days are so short! Getting up at 6am for the gym isn't easy. I can't run outside anymore, it's too cold and too dark, even at night. Treadmill running is so boring. I can't wait for Saturday, it's supposed to reach at least 50!
That's it for now, I'll keep you posted on these things and other items on the list that I forgot to mention.

Disconnected
W back again, E hasn't had time to update the Blog so she delegated it to me. Am I the only one who doesn't have anyone to delgate stuff too? Since I'm writing this I guess the answer is Yes.
Nothing really going on with us right now. Red Sox are out of it, so my nightly entertainment is over until Spring. Celtics and Bruins don't really interest me and the Pats are one game a week.
I'm a Red Sox-aholic, and they don't have meetings for us. There should be some sort of winter support group for us. Weekly meetings to discuss offseason moves and help each other through a long winter. "Hi I'm W and and I'm a Sox-aholic, it's been 2 nights since my last Red Sox game." If the "Evil Laugh" thing doesn't work I may just have something to fall back on.
Well, have a good one people and remember — Spring Training is only 5 months away.

Wedding Bells are ringing
We just returned from E's cousin M and his lovely bride S's wedding. The ceremony was beautiful. They were brave enough to have it outside. If only they had the weather we had at our wedding. It was 50 degrees on Saturday night. On our wedding almost exactly a year before it was about 80.
They had the ceremony and reception at Catlin Gardens in Slate Hill, New York. The food and wine were delicious. The cake was really good too. I was so full but I had to try it, I'm glad I did.
Today we went to IHOP with most of the family. We had to wait some time for a table. Apparently, there isn't a lot of places for breakfast in the area. It was good to spend time with the folks I haven't seen in a while.
Here are some pictures of the evening. Enjoy!

I've been tagged
I've been "tagged" - a great way to introduced yourself to other bloggers. (eastc2west2.blogspot.com tagged my blog, so now it's my turn to tag a few other bloggers).
Here are the rules
-Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog
-Share seven facts about yourself on your blog - some random, some weird.
-Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
-Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs.
Boy I hope I do this right.
Here are my seven random facts:
1. I can clap with one hand
2. I was born in the same city as Johnny Appleseed.
3. I love dancing to techno music even if it's just in my living room.
4. I finally mastered brushing my teeth with my left hand. To righties: try it, it's not easy.
5. I grew up wearing glasses and contacts and now because of technology I no longer need either.
6. I'm still friends with a girl I meet in kindergarten.
7. I've been skydiving.

Job update
For people who don't know, I went on an interview this past August for company X. It's in Boston but it would be a good opportunity career wise. Unfortunately, I got a rejection letter. I was bummed but I just thought it was meant to be since I really didn't want to drive into Boston everyday.
A few weeks later there's a message on our machine from Company X. I'm thinking "Geez, did that new person who got the job only work there a few days and left, what kind of company is this".
Well, I called back and they said what happened was that I was way to overqualified for the position. There was however, a new position opening up in September. The HR lady said the Art Director would give me a call if the position was approved.
Since it's October, I sorta gave up thinking because the way the economy is going, the position probably didn't get approved.
Here's the cliffhanger until the next blog, they called back!!! I just have no idea why, I'll keep you posted.

Columbus Day
W back again. E is at work and left me to write the blog. It's my last day of vacation and I'm just taking it easy. I'm doing nothing but watching bad day time TV and eating left overs.
By the way I've found out that every historic event has been covered by the History Channel. While flipping around I came across "The History of Underwear." Now you have to be scraping the bottom of the "Idea Barrell" to come up with that one. Not only that but to allow it to be made and run on your station? How desperate were they?
Yeah, I watched it..... but in my defense, it was the most interesting thing on TV.
Well so long and be thankful for cotton, I've just seen what they used to have to wear.

Vacation Recap
Today is my last day of vacation. W has Monday off because of the holiday. Lucky him.
Our vacation was filled with excellent weather, great cake and wonderful company. The surprise of the week is that we actually played tennis. That's the one thing that I didn't think we'd do.
It was fun but neither one of us had played for at least 10 years. It was probably longer for me and it showed. We lost one of our tennis balls over the fence in the first 10 minutes of playing. It took almost an hour to lose the second one. We quit right after that. My forearms are still killing me. It's been three days since we played, c'mon, I'm not THAT out of shape!
One of the things I didn't accomplish over vacation was making our wedding album. Soooo procrastinating on that one. I guess I'll have to wait for my next vacation.
Overall we had an awesome, relaxing vacation. Neither one of us are looking forward to going back to work. But really, who would?

In the swing of things
W and I went golfing this morning. I haven't been in about 4 months so it was a little rough at the beginning. Anyone who's golfed with W knows that his temper can go either way. Sometimes he's like "eh, I can do better" and other times it can go like "@*!!#&". We only did nine holes so there wasn't much swearing by him. By me, on the other hand. . . did I mention I hadn't played in 4 months?
The thing I hate the most about golfing is the stress I feel at each tee. W can get mentally ready, he takes his time, sometimes there's someone still out on the green so he has to wait for them to be out of hitting range. By the time he hits his ball, it's my turn and with all that waiting there's now people behind us. The people behind us are watching me. There's no dilly dallying getting mentally ready. I have to hurry. You have to realize, I hit the ball about 3x more than the average player. The people waiting are now aware of that because I just hit my ball off the tee only to have it land 2 feet in front of me. Then I take out my 3 iron and, if the golfing gods are with me, it goes at least 100 yards. It did but into the woods.
Today's outing wasn't so bad. There were people behind us and W suggested us having them play through but I've seen that situation go poorly so I said no. They ended up being really slow so there was no stress for me.
Why do I play if I get so stressed? I love to play outside. Oh, and you burn major amount of calories, especially the way I play.

Vacation Rocks
Well, it's "W" back again. On vacation and loving it. I haven't had to wear pants yet this week...... Shorts people, get your minds out of the gutter. It's crowded in here.
Anyway, I've been doing my classes on the computer and they are going well. E and I are planning to do some golfing tomorrow. I haven't played in over a month so it should be a high scoring affair. May be the last time I get out until the spring though.
By the way no bites on my Craig's list post, don't know if it's that there's no demand or if evil villains don't do Craig's List. I'll keep you updated. W out and remember shaken not stirred.

Happy Anniversary to us!
Today is our one year wedding anniversary. We are celebrating with our cake top and a bottle of wine we got as a gift. Yup, We're hopped up on sugar with a heavy buzz. Not sure where this blog will go.
Just kidding. Well, sorta. We had some cake and it was awesome!!! Especially the frosting. So, yes, I am having a little sugar rush right now. You should see how fast I am typing.
Tonight we are going to the Cheesecake Factory. Yum! I can't wait for my favorite sandwich. W bought me a skirt so I will be wearing that. I'm assuming he'll be wearing the awesome Patriots shirt I got him. He looks so cute in it!
We can't believe it's been a whole year. It went by fast but that's probably because we were having fun. Yup, that kind of fun;)

I'm back
E told me I had to do the blog today, so W is back. "W" I feel like I belong in a James Bond film, "OO7 meet W. He's Q's assistant." What would W do?? I mean M is in command.... Q builds the cool gadgets... I'm a letter not a number so I'm not a field agent... low in the alphabet.... W would be in charge of what, refreshments???
Actually I do have a really good evil villain laugh, but I really don't have the ambition for world conquest, and no where near the patience to plan the actual villainy. Maybe I could hire myself out to evil villains who don't have good evil laughs... Dr. Asthma or Baron Monotone. That would be a good gig. Wait in the wings for the villain to do his whole evil monologue, he gives me the signal, "evil laugh", then I'm done. I get paid and I'm out of there before the hero escapes and takes everyone down. Wonder if it would pay any good. Maybe I'll put it on Craig's List.

Vacation here we come!
W and I are on vacation starting at 6pm tonight. Woo-hoo! We're not doing too much but have little things planned here and there. Mostly, W will be doing his on-line classes. To stay out of his way and not be a distraction, I made a few plans of my own. Tuesday, I'll be going up to Leominster. Wednesday, I'll be going out with U. We didn't make any definite plans so I'm just assuming there will be lunch and shopping involved. No complaints here!
W has promised that he'll play tennis with me sometime during the week. Let's see if that remains true. I bought a tennis racket this Spring and I've yet to use it. I'm also hoping to golf. I'm sure W is too.
Oh and one thing I forgot to mention, Monday is our first year wedding anniversary. We are planning a night on the town. What town, we don't know, but it'll be at night.

Short Days
I've been getting kinda lazy lately in the morning with my running. It's still warm out but soooo dark and I totally don't want to get out of my bed. It's scary outside when it's dark.
Though it's been pretty light out to run after work, I think yesterday was my last to do so. It wasn't super dark but I didn't wear my safety reflector vest thingy and well, I cut it short. I run on pretty busy roads and the last thing I need is to be unseen by a car.
I set my alarm 20 minutes later than normal this morning and it did just the trick. I had no problem getting up. It was still dark but no so scary.
Fall is definitely one of my favorite times of the year, the sights and smells and everything that goes with it. Well, except for the lack of sunshine.
BTW, the new sneaks are fabulous.

No new taxes?
I have to tell ya, I like to read when I'm eating my cereal in the morning. This morning I was reading up on the questions that will be on the ballot come November. One of the questions is getting rid of the state income tax in Massachusetts. The supporters say that your town taxes won't go up and that the government is just misspending the funds from our contribution and this will straighten them out. Now, as much as I would love some extra coin in my paycheck but I'm a bit wary come February after our 15th snowstorm, where will the funds come from to clear the street? I'm sure that thought is irrelevant but I'd like to know from any one who lives in a income tax free state, is it worth it?

New Header Picture
So, we've been getting a lot of inquiries on why the flower for the main picture. Even W was puzzled by this. Well, the truth is, I didn't have anything else really to put there. W even wondered why there wasn't a picture of us there, that's what the blog is all about.
I reminded him that we were trying to be somewhat discreet on our identies but I did find this lovely picture that would still elude the masses. This is a picture of us when we went to Baltimore for my 33rd birthday. We were at Baltimore's National Aquarium and had ask a fellow tourist to take our picture. Boy, she was a doozy. She did admit she didn't know how to use a camera but we thought she was just kidding. As you can see, she wasn't. She then asked us to take a picture of her and her husband. Oh boy, was I tempted but I did the right thing and made sure there heads were in the shot.
This picture always makes me laugh. I hope you see the humor.

Back to School
Well, W finally did it. After years of not loving his career (I'm being nice here) he signed up for computer classes to start doing something that he does like. He has the opportunity to do the classes at home which is great since he can't go to a classroom because of his work hours. We will set him on a schedule so his path to a new job will be quick.
I realize "computer classes" is a broad study range, and I can't answer what exactly he'll be studying. In the end the most important thing is that HE knows what he's studying. I'm just there to support and nag him.
I did get permission to nag him (woo-hoo!)

Birthdays and Baptisms
Yesterday was very busy for W and E. First we went to our nephew J's birthday party. J was all excited telling us about his dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Because he was so excited telling us about his day we only got out of it that he really liked the thunder and I think there was a monkey involved. It's hard to understand a 6 year that's twirling about the room talking in his dog voice. There was awesome cupcakes at this party. Bravo to SIL L!
Fast forward to 1pm. We did about a buck 90 to Framingham to go to our niece, L's baptism. We weren't late but kept saying "so this is how if feels like to be my sister". W is her Godfather. At one point all the Godparents were on the alter and the priest made a point to say that these are good people because the roof hadn't fallen down. Proof that there's still hope for W.

I can see clearly now!
As everyone now knows, I had Lasiks eye surgery yesterday. Everything went well. I was in some pain right afterwards but a 3 hour nap took care of that. I was a little nervous because my sight was still unclear but nightime but when I woke up this morning I could see just fine. The only thing is that everything has a glow around it, kinda like Cybil Sheppard in Moonlighting.
I had my follow up this morning at TLC and they said that I have 20/20 vision with out the use of glasses/contacts. The glow I see is normal.
If any of you are thinking of doing it, I highly recommend taking the Valium that they offer before hand. I didn't but regretted it afterwards. It didn't hurt but it was very uncomfortable when they make the flap in your cornea. In the end it was totally worth it. Please check out my before and after shots, as you can see it's quite a difference.

still in control
W back again. E had her Lasic done today. Doctors said everything went well. She has to take it easy on her eyes for the next few weeks, and she can't watch a lot of TV, use the computer or read a lot for the next few days. Plus she has to put drops in her eyes all the time. Added bonus she can now shoot laser beams out of her eyes now, which kind of sucks for me.
Sox got clobbered by the Rays last night, 2 back in the division now, on the plus side they are up 7 games in the wild card race. So October baseball is still looking good.
"ZZZZZZZZT" Ow!!!!! Sorry I have to get off the computer now or I'll get zapped again. Coming dear.

I have usurped control!!!!!!!
OK E's out today and I'm in. The Ma Glockners thing was a big blow. This area is sorely lacking in good places to eat. Those cinnamon rolls were the best and will be missed. Red Sox bats were on fire last night as they crushed Scot Kazmir and the Tampa Bay Rays. Let's hope they keep it going. Win tonight puts us in sole possession of first place. Come on Josh Becket.

The end of an era
When we went out to eat yesterday our big plan was go to go Ma Gockners. As we pulled up we noticed no cars in the parking lot and a small sign on the door that read the restuarant was closed due to hard economic times. There was more to the note but we all know how patient W is and he just drove away and said "let's pick another place to go". I think I saw a small tear in his eye but didn't say anything. I'm royally bummed about this and hope they reopen soon. Those cinnamon buns are awesome.
We ended up at the 99. It was ok.

HBTE!!
Today is my birthday. My wonderful husband got me new sneakers (see below). I got Nike's this time around. Normally I'm a New Balance kind of girl but I've been wearing them for years and I was looking to try out something different. Unfortunately, I can't run today because it's pouring out and that's one thing I don't like to do, run in the rain. I'll keep you posted on their rating.
My Mom is coming to visit today and we are going to Ma Glouckners. If you are ever in the Franklin/Bellingham Ma area, I highly recommend this restaurant. Instead of dinner rolls they serve cinnamon rolls. They are sooooo good.
We are also having an open house. Selling our condo on my bday would be the best present!

Our very first blog
Welcome! I'm so glad you checked in! Last year the big thing for us was our wedding which went off without a hitch (ha-ha). This year, it's selling our condo. We put it on the market around April but no bites. Plenty of people seen it, whether it be an actual person looking for themselves or the ever popular looking for "a friend". But no offers. I'm not to concerned considering that we haven't found a place to buy. Anyway, check out our link http://isoldmyhouse.com/index/MA/141176.html
Please send it to anyone you know that may be looking for a place.
