Ok, so they're not brown, they're actually beautiful right now. We had a crazy storm last night and a lot of them fell but they still plenty up on the trees.
I took these pictures about a week ago at work. I don't know of any good areas to take pictures in Franklin.
Can anyone suggest a place?

It looks like Franklin has a state forest. Could you go there?

I think I've been there before to go snowshoeing. I think I have to bring W with me because I won't feel comfortable being by myself in the woods.
