I had another trip into Boston yesterday. This time I was going to the Seaport Hotel. Not that difficult since it's right off of the Pike. I used my Garmin anyway.
First it tells me to get onto 495S. So I assumed it would take me to 95 and I was fine with that. The estimated time of arrival was 7:59, exactly 31 minutes ahead of schedule. It then proceeded to tell me to get onto Route 1. Hmmm, I think, I can just go two more exits and get onto 95 there. Well, I didn't listen to myself and got onto Route 1. ETA now 8:03
It gets worse.
It made me get off onto Route 28. Basically making me drive through all these small towns to get to Boston. I was so irate at that point. I hate to admit it but I did swear at the thing. Many times. ETA 8:26.
It gets worse.
It makes me get onto the Pike only to get off immediately for my exit. UGH!!! ETA 8:34
I found parking pretty easy AND it only cost me $10.
I was about 20 minutes late and they hadn't started because there was a lot of people that still hadn't showed up. Perhaps they went the ask-backwards way I went. I should've listened to myself and gotten on the Pike in the first place. Next time.

Hey there.
Thanks to you I use the detour button frequently. The directions the GPS gives aren't always the best. The detour button works fairly well most of the time. Try using it locally. Tell W to be careful when he spills his beer.

I say chuck the garmin and get a Tom Tom. I love LOVE our Tom Tom and I can't think of a single time it has ever led us astray. Ooh and I was able to change the voice so now we have John Cleese giving us directions...Love it!
